New City Construction Update
May 7, 2012

South Main Street
Sewer Replacement Project has been completed as of October 12, 2011.

Orange and Rockland Utilities has installed a new gas main along South
Main Street. United Water is continuing with their work and the Town
is conducting drainage improvements simultaneously.

The intent is to keep two way traffic flowing as much as possible
along South Main Street. There will be short periods of time where
there will be one lane traffic due to safety issues.

Congers Road (Rt. 304 to Main Street)

Congers Road is being prepared to be paved. One lane will be closed,
westbound traffic will be maintained at all times, and eastbound
traffic will be detoured to Maple Ave, and onto Rt. 304 via Third
Street. Final course paving will start Friday night (May 11th) at
approximately 6:30 pm and is expected to be completed by early
Saturday morning. Final roadway striping will be installed after top
course installation next week.

New Hempstead Road and Little Tor Road
This is a County of Rockland project. Please contact the County
Superintendent of Highways (638-5060) for information about this
project.
