Town Reschedules Paper Shredding Event with Jawonio
for February 25th
(New City,
NY) - Due to the impending snow
fall for this evening into tomorrow morning, the Town of Clarkstown has postponed the Paper Shredding
event with Jawonio until Saturday, February 25th to
be held at the same location and time.
Residents can bring three small boxes or the equivalent of
two Town recycling bins to be shredded at Jawonio,
260 North Little Tor Road, New City.Proof of residency is required.Residents are permitted to watch documents
being shredded or wait in the waiting area.Receipts will be provided.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to offer residents a great
and convenient way to get rid of all those piles of papers lying around,” said
Supervisor Gromack.“The Town is proud
to partner with Jawonio for this special event and
help support people with disabilities.”
The shredder Jawonio has at its
facility is a commercial shredder that can handle multiple boxes per hour.Two to three employees from Jawonio are trained to use it.Jawonio is a
certified provider of this service through the NYS Industries for the Disabled
and has a variety of contracts throughout the community.
Clarkstown residents should enter Jawonio
from Little Tor Road and follow signs through the parking lot to enter the
building from the side door.For more
