Town to Start Sewer Replacement Project on Main Street, New City

(New City, NY) - The Town of Clarkstown will commence a sewer replacement project along South Main Street, New City.  Construction will begin this week and is expected to last approximately 45 days.  The work will be conducted along Main Street starting at Third Street to Laurel Road. 

The Town has contracted with Montana Construction Inc., to perform the work, which will replace 40 year old sewers.  The work will be done Monday to Friday during the day and occasionally at night.  Traffic detours may be required at certain points during construction; however, one lane is expected to be open for most of the project.

Sewer service will not be disrupted during this time.  Access to all businesses will always be provided throughout construction.  Please continue to patronize our local businesses. 

This sewer replacement project is being conducted prior to and in anticipation of the work starting on the downtown New City Revitalization Project – Phase II, which is expected to start next month.
