Clarkstown Loose Leaf Pick Up Program Ahead of Schedule

Residents Encouraged to Check Website for Updates

New City, NY – Highway Superintendent Wayne Ballard announced today that the Town of Clarkstown Loose Leaf Program is running ahead of schedule.

“The crews are making great progress,” said Highway Superintendent Wayne Ballard.  “They have been working hard to collect 60,000 yards of leaves, which is about 85% of the leaves in Clarkstown.”

Residents and landscapers are urged to check the Town’s website at for the latest street schedule updates to ensure that leaves are put to the curb in time for pick up.  It is anticipated that the trucks will be moving faster through each neighborhood during this next round up.

Bagged leaves will continue to be picked up throughout the winter months when the weather permits.  Yard waste including brush, branches and twigs can not be mixed in with leaves during this program.  Yard waste pick up will resume in March or residents can drop off at the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority.

Residents may contact the Clarkstown Highway Department by email at or by telephone (845) 623-7500 for more information; on weekends leave a detailed message on the answering machine.
