Sponsors 21st Annual Coats for Kids Program
Clarkstown Supervisor Alexander J. Gromack
announced the start of the 21st Annual Coats for Kids Program in Rockland County.
The program runs from Monday, November 8 – Friday, December 17. The long-running service provides coats for
people in the community who might not otherwise be able to buy a warm winter
coat.
“If you have an extra coat in your closet, please join me in
making this holiday season a little brighter and a great deal warmer for our
neighbors,” said Supervisor Gromack. “Donors may bring coats that are gently worn
to one of the participating dry cleaners.
They will clean the coats free of charge, and then forward them to one
of the distribution agencies located throughout the County.”
The program is being sponsored by the The
Byne Group who designed the posters free of charge;
New Born Printing who printed the posters free of charge; the Florian Association of Rockland County who are a group of
retired FDNY members living in Rockland County; Tutor Time Child Care Learning
Centers; and both 100.7 WHUD Radio and WRCR AM 1300 Radio.
In addition, Fine Line Cleaners located at 47 South Main Street
in New City is
our event kick-off sponsor this year. Owner
Maria Kcira and her son Michael are holding a Coat
& Clothing Drive on Wednesday, November 3rd and Friday, November 5th from 6
to 8 pm at Street School Community Center
located at 31 Zukor
Road in New
City. The coats
collected from the Drive will be donated to the Annual Coats for Kids
Program.
“With the help and the generosity of the people of Rockland, I am certain
that this very worthwhile program will once again be a huge success,” added
Supervisor Gromack.

“Many families in Rockland
are faced with tough times during the holiday season,” said Supervisor Gromack. “My goal is
to help provide the warmth of a coat to as many people as possible. Since so many of us have perfectly good coats
hanging in our closets that we no longer wear, please consider donating them to
someone in need who can make good use of
them. Your worst coat could be someone
else’s salvation. It is important to be good neighbors and assist the children
and families that need our help the most.”
