Clarkstown
Supervisor Alex Gromack announced that the Town of Clarkstown is participating
in a back to school drive from now through September 10, 2010. The back
to school drive will benefit two local not-for-profit organizations:
Advocate for Change and People to People.
In this economic
climate, it is especially important that we all try to help our neighbors in
need by helping our children be prepared as they get ready to go back to
school, said Supervisor Alex Gromack.
These two reputable
organizations in our community are collecting school supplies to distribute to
students before the start of the school year.
The Town is asking
employees and residents to donate supplies from the following list in an effort
to help families in need. A donation box is located in the lobby at
Clarkstown Town Hall, 10 Maple Avenue, New City.
The list includes:
·book bags
·3 subject notebooks
·5 subject notebooks
·1 binders
·2 binders
·Loose leaf paper
·Index cards
·Scientific calculators (new/used in working
condition)
·Pens/Pencils
