Clarkstown Plans Valley Cottage Hamlet Green Park Dedication

Sunday, May 16, 12pm – 3pm

 

(New City, NY) - The Town of Clarkstown is announcing the completion of the Valley Cottage Hamlet Green, located at 10 New Lake Road, in the center of downtown Valley Cottage. 

 

As part of the revitalization of downtown Valley Cottage, the Town invested in the creation of the pocket park which includes a gazebo, fountain, benches, and beautiful landscaping, providing Town residents a serene area within the hamlet.

 

Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack, the Town Board, and the Parks and Recreation Commission are celebrating with a concert.  Residents are invited to participate in the celebration, Sunday, May 16^th from 12pm to 3pm.   

 

The celebration includes a variety of activities including music, arts and crafts, a face painter, and inflatable houses.  Residents are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets. 

“We look forward to enjoying the park with our residents and their families,” said Supervisor Alex Gromack.  “The park provides another amenity to our new pedestrian friendly hamlet center.”  

 

The following organizations are also participating: Valley Cottage Fire Department, Congers Valley Cottage Ambulance Corp, Valley Cottage Civic Association, Valley Cottage Library, and the Congers Valley Cottage Rotary. 

 

Also on May 16^th, the Valley Cottage Farmers market will open for the season and will be open every Sunday, May thru September, in the Town commuter lot located at 1 New Lake Road.
