Town of Clarkstown Sponsors 20th Annual Coats
for Kids Program
Clarkstown
Supervisor Alexander J. Gromack announced the “kick-off” of the Annual Coats
for Kids Program in RocklandCounty. The program
runs from the present date through Friday, December 18, 2009. The
long-running service provides coats for people in the community who might
otherwise not be able to buy a warm winter layer.
“I
am once again calling on anyone with an extra coat in their closet to join me
in making this holiday season a little brighter and a great deal warmer for our
neighbors” said Gromack. “People
can bring their coats – in wearable condition – to one of the participating dry
cleaners. They will clean the coats free of charge, and then forward them
to one of the distribution agencies located throughout the county.”
The
program is being sponsored by the Florian Association of Rockland; The Byne
Group; New Born Printing; The Rockland Review; 100.7 WHUD; Tutor Time Child
Care Learning Centers; Frank Miller Landscaping. “With their help and
the generosity of the people of Rockland,
I am certain that this very worthwhile program will once again be a huge
success,” added Supervisor Gromack. This years’ list of participating dry-cleaners include:

“Many
families in Rockland
are faced with tough times during the holiday season. My goal is to
provide warmth to as many people as possible. Many of us have perfectly
good coats hanging in our closets that we no longer wear. Instead of
storing them, let someone in need make use of them. Your worst coat could
be someone else’s salvation,” said
Gromack. “It is important to be good neighbors and assist the children
and families that need our help the most.”
