The Town of Clarkstown will be
conducting a Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:00 pm at
the 9/11 Memorial in the park immediately adjacent to Town Hall.
At the event, Town officials will
honor the memory of those who perished on September 11, 2001 and the strength
and courage of their families and friends from Rockland who continue to mourn
their loss.
The names of the Rockland County
individuals who perished will be read by the Supervisor, Town Council Members
and Police Chief Noonan.
The ceremony will commence with
the Rockland County Police Emerald Society Pipes & Drums.The Hudson Voices will perform the National
Anthem and the song “God Bless America”.
The ceremony
will be moved to the Town Hall auditorium in the event of rain.
Immediately following the
ceremony, there will be a reception hosted by The Florian
Association of Rockland for families and friends at the American Legion Post
1682 located at 65 American Legion Way in New City.
