Clarkstown to Host Blood Drive

New City, NY – On Thursday, June 4 the Town of Clarkstown will sponsor a Blood Drive with the New York Blood Center.  The Blood Drive will take place in Room 301 at Town Hall, 10 Maple Avenue in New City.

According to the New York Blood Center, one in three people will need blood sometime during their lives.  Blood lasts only 42 days and donations are critically important.  Close to 2,000 men, women, and children in our community, including cancer, transplant and surgery patients, trauma victims, newborn babies, and many others need blood transfusions each day.    

Each year the Town hosts two blood drives at Town Hall, in June and October.  “It is important for the town to join together with its employees and residents to donate blood and help save lives in our own community,” said Supervisor Alex Gromack.

Residents are encouraged to join Town employees at the blood drive.  Please call 639-2050 to sign up for an appointment and help save a life.
