Efforts of Girl Scouts on Earth Day, April 22nd
ClarkstownSupervisor Alex Gromack and Councilwoman Shirley
Lasker recognized the ‘Heart of the Hudson Girl Scout
Troop 40603-Rockland’ for their help in moving the town’s recycling efforts
forward to include our ball fields, parks and community centers.
The recognition ceremony appropriately
took place on Earth Day, April 22nd, at Germonds
Park in West Nyack at 11am.Supervisor
Gromack and Councilwoman Lasker presented a
certificate to each Girl Scout for their recycling efforts, which they
conducted as part of their Silver Award.
The Girl Scout Troop has been meeting
with Keep Rockland Beautiful and the Clarkstown Recreation and Parks
Department, who also attended the ceremony, to develop plans to encourage more
recycling in parks, ball fields, community centers and other public places.
